This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot confirm whether a warrant exists, recall or clear a warrant, post bond, arrange a surrender, or give legal advice to anyone. For any of those, reach the sheriff's office or the issuing court directly.
Need Official Warrant Information?
Here is where the questions people ask most often about Eaton County warrants are actually answered:
- Whether a warrant exists: the Sheriff's Office publishes a phone instruction for a person who suspects a warrant carries their name. Call 517-543-7500, ext. 4026 during normal business hours Monday through Friday.
- A bench warrant for a missed court date: contact the court that set the case. Most Eaton County matters sit with the 56A District Court, and a felony after bindover sits with the Circuit Court Clerk.
- Resolving or clearing a warrant: talk with a licensed Michigan attorney and the issuing court about a recall, a voluntary appearance, or posting bond.
- An arrest warrant tied to a charge: the court authorizes the process and sets bond, and the sheriff or a city police department serves it.
- A traffic or civil-infraction matter: call the 56A District Court traffic window at 517-543-3359, or the criminal counter at 517-543-4029.
For records held at the county level, the first stop is the Sheriff's Office Records Division: 1025 Independence Blvd., Charlotte, MI 48813, phone 517-543-5247, open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. The Records Division handles reports and request routing, not warrant recalls.
For a court file, use the office that keeps the docket. 56A District Court is at 1045 Independence Blvd., Charlotte, MI 48813, phone 517-543-7520. The Circuit Court Clerk handles felony records after bindover at the same courthouse, phone 517-543-4335. Courthouse public hours are 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays.
A payment made to a jail account is not a court payment, and a report request is not a dispatch call. Keep those routes separate, and a question reaches the right desk the first time.
