Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name, date of birth, or case number you type into a search box on this site goes directly to the outside company that runs that tool. The company processes the query and returns the results. We do not keep or log what you typed.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us, we retain the message so we can write back. It stays with our team. We will not pass it to anyone outside the organization unless a legal obligation requires us to.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page here loads, our servers record ordinary technical details about the visit:
- The IP address your device is using
- Your browser and its version
- Your operating system and device type
- Which pages you opened and how long you spent on them
- The site that referred you here, where one did
- A timestamp for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
This site uses cookies, the small files stored on your device that show us which pages draw traffic and where visitors leave. Analytics providers help aggregate that data. Your browser settings let you block cookies at any time, though parts of the site may behave differently if you do.
What We Do With This Data
We use the limited data described above for a short list of ordinary purposes. None of them involves selling a record about you or building a profile that we then hand to someone else.
- Keeping the site online and loading quickly
- Routing your search request to the correct partner service
- Learning which pages readers find useful and which need work
- Finding and repairing technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may relate to your interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, compile, maintain, or sell any database of warrants or personal warrant records. We publish general guidance about where Eaton County warrant records are held and how to check them through the Sheriff's Office and the Eaton County courts. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing we gather about visitors is assembled into a consumer report or a file about a third party.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes here are supplied by outside companies. Whatever you enter goes to that company and is handled under its privacy policy rather than this one. Those partners decide their own retention and sharing practices, and we have no control over them. Read the partner's policy before you submit a query.
Links to Other Websites
This site links to sheriff's office pages, Eaton County court pages, Michigan court and state resources, and outside search tools. Following one of those links takes you off this site, and the destination's privacy policy then applies. Read it before you share personal details.
Some advertising partners may track activity across sites to serve targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Limited information may reach:
- Search partners that handle a query you run here
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place advertising on our pages
- Law enforcement or government offices when a valid legal order compels it
How We Protect Your Data
We use ordinary security practices to protect what we collect. Nothing connected to the internet is completely safe, so we cannot promise that a breach will never happen, only that we take reasonable steps to prevent one.
Users Under 18
This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us data, contact us and we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Michigan's public-records law, the Freedom of Information Act at 1976 PA 442, MCL 15.231 et seq., governs requests made to public bodies for public records and sets the response timeline those offices follow. It does not apply to a private website, so the rights below are the ones we honor directly:
- Ask for a copy of anything we hold about you
- Have information that is wrong corrected
- Ask us to delete your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may change. When it does, the revised version appears on this page with a new effective date. Check back if you want to follow how we handle visitor information.
